To turn this into a somewhat real Starcraft discussion... Multiplayer Zerg players don't have overminds. And they're nearly impossible to nuke, since overlords are detectors. In Brood War, especially on the money (Read: Talentless) maps, the Zerg are easily the best race. You just need to know what you're doing. Watch your 72+ Hydralisks lay waste to carrier fleets, under the helpful defiler's Dark Swarm. Or overwhelm an opponent's base defenses with more than 200 Zerglings. In any case, Zerg rules. This has been a Starcraft lesson. kthxbai! /me bombs all Star Craft nuts with F-117 delivered bunker busters and B2 delivered MOAB. /me sweeps up the remnants with AC-130 orbit /me secures the area with armor detachments and close air support /me teabags Kaleb win!

Heck, you need about 20 stealth fighters to take out an overlord (Zero Hour, not the Starcraft unit)... The MOAB and Spectre are promotion extras, they can't really destroy an entire base or army... Very useful for stopping one's income though. And use your chinooks to dispatch the armoured units and infantry. w00t! Nice tactic for a quick, but deadly attack though. You can't settle RTS fights like this. It all comes down to how you play, you might never even get the chance to build an army. There's no way to tell who is owning who in a forum discussion. Anyway, install Zero Hour! We could go own some Germans. Why Germans? Because they always fight to the bitter end!

I actually refuse to ever install that expansion again, ever! I do like the original Generals, but with all these pseudo-fururistic nuts added all the fun is taken away, playing as America really makes you unstopable... Like America wasn't overpowered enough in the original...

Not really, no... Not at all, actually. As America does have powerful units they come at a high cost. It's not unfair at all.

I do like the original Generals, but with all these pseudo-fururistic nuts added all the fun is taken away, playing as America really makes you unstopable... Like America wasn't overpowered enough in the original... In the game, I think the USA kicks the most ass. However, it is extremely dependent on power and air power. Not to mention expensive units. China is worst.

It did occur to me that the makers of that game just set out to have the Americans owning the middle eastern blokes.

China is good fun, but for fun I prefer the GLA, fun units, fun tactics and fun voiceover For raw power I prefer America... And that the units are expensive is not quite a problem if you have those supply dropzones, those give you an unlimited cashflow... So far for it not being fair... Both China and the GLA have something that brings in cash too (hackers and a black market) but for some reason I've never found those that effective...

GLA are heavily underpowered but, as DooM said, great fun to play as. Does anone else find that it's much too easy to make unbreakable defences so all you have to do is get a load of (say) Paladins and tankrush to win?

GLA isn't underpowered.
Let me introduce you people to my dear friend. Tactics?
/me Tactics walks in and waves nervously.
Tactics here has been hiding from the players of Real Time Strategy games for about 6 years now. But once you get used to him, he's an O.K. guy. Tactics, why don't you tell us about Zero Hour?
Tactics: All your base are belong to GLA. Tactics: USA Superweapon = Ultimate camping general = easily taken by GLA. Tactics: China = Insanely good ground units. Piss-poor everything else. Tactics: GLA Stealth is quite possibly the best general. Ever. Tactics: USA Air Force is the only USA general worth playing, unless you're protected by a GLA teammate. Tactics: China is good for ripping off! Never underestimate the power of stolen technology.
Thank you, Tactics. Any other words of wisdom for us?
Tactics: ****
Indeed.

Tactics and I want to play you in a, say... 2vs2? Me and tactics versus you and whoever else wants to try GLA's "underpowered" units.

Tactics doesn't actually own Zero Hour, or any Command & Conquer game. Nor has Tactics ever played Generals/Zero Hour. Tactics is just smarter than DooM and Ghostie.

No, but Tactics can make you say: 'n00b!' and nobody will be able to say 'you are the n00b!'.

No, but Tactics can make you say: 'n00b!' and nobody will be able to say 'you are the n00b!'. 's right. Nobody can call me a newbie in Zero Hour, because I've never even played it. =D I'm just a strategical genius.
